SPCC#63

Good Morning, I hope everyone's weekend is a good one. I've been busy all weekend scrappin' and doing a few other things that I just love, love, love.

I created this card this morning for my nephew, it is his 7th birthday. His party is this afternoon and my son is so excited he doesn't get to his cousin to often.

I used the color combo over at Scrapmaster's Paradise, check out that blog if you get a chance she always post some really good color scheme's.

I'll be posting another soon I started scrapping Friday night some pages from my Key West trip. Have a great day!

Color Throwdown #108

Good Morning all, I had great day yesterday and loved being off with my little man. Yesterday couldn't have gotten better. So I did wake early this morning and decided to do a color challenge over at Color Throwdown. My So Saffron color is a bit off, but I can't seem to match the colors perfectly unless it calls for white or black. lol
I'm getting back into calligraphy again, and it isn't like it used to be. I'm going to have to get my ink and nibs out to get the real feel for it. Right now I'm just using the calligraphy markers and it doesn't have the same result at all. Either way I'm glad I'm ahead of the game and not making a card at the very last moment.
Take care everyone, and check out the new LoveLeigh Poll listed on the sidebar.

So hope you all have a creative day, happy to have gotten one done, and now I must get ready for work. Maybe I'll create more later after dinner! See ya around!

Movie Mondays (MM)

So here it is the 2nd Movie Monday (MM) for me to post. This week I chose the movie "The Great Outdoors". Where John Candy and Dan Akryod made being outdoors a funny mishap, one right after another. I don't see it that way when we go. Usually I'm just miserable, this time though it was just my little family of 3. I love when its just us. We camp the way we like w/out others telling us what to do or someone not helping out.

This particular trip we did rustic at a campground called Ruby. Last minute trip for the 4the of July weekend. Just about a 1 1/2 hours north of us near Port Huron. It was great it was the perfect spot. The site we had was called the "The Crossing" very secluded and away from the regular campers that are practically on top of each other. I think this is our new favorite spot. Even though we had no electricity or water, it was nice because there were still bathrooms and showers available at the front of the camp.

Did you miss last weeks post where I launched MM? Well I am creating a scrapbook album and every page will have a movie title. Got the idea from a page challenge that had to have a movie title.

Next weeks movie will be a John Travolta movie, can you guess, leave a comment what you think it will be.

I created a card over the week too for my good friends Liz & Kyle they are getting married in October and I used their wedding colors. I really like this card, and thought about making more of the same card, just different color schemes for other upcoming weddings.

I'm awake, really this time

Wow, this morning is a tough one. I want a day where I have the choice to sleep in. Weekends my son is the first one up usually 730am, so I don't get to sleep in. Weekdays I get up usually at 6am and today I got up, put the laundry in the dryer and got back in bed until 630am and that dang button we call snooze kept going off. So I grabbed my pillow went to the couch and turned on my laptop, checked fb and saw not one thing interesting. I wasn't really sitting up, sort of laying down and fell asleep twice. So I switched over to blogger and fell asleep again. It is now 654am, ugh....
So I'm running behind for work, because I'd rather do a bit of blog right now. I'm not looking forward to work. I just know its going to be a downer today.

I'm really tired today.

I was happy to see yesterday that I made the Top 5 over at SPCC this was my card entry. Usually when I do a challenge I think of upcoming events or occasions and create the card based around that. Is that what you do? Or do you make cards and hold them for later use? Just curious. I sent this particular card to my new friend, who happens to be my Uncle David. I've only met him once, and didn't really get a chance to know him. fb has allowed us to get to know each other. I am truly thankful to fb for that reason. He has started his own blog, but hasn't really stepped into this fun world of blogging yet. I look forward to when he does because he seems to be a wonderful writer (again I've only gotten to know him since around May) he likes to write I know, and when he writes little messages to me, I think wow, he really has a way with words and his description of his daily life is awesome! I however not so much a writer, probably have no business writing here, not sure if what I write is interesting. Guess I shouldn't worry about that because I do blogging because I love scrapbooking and love the new ideas that I get from visiting so many wonderful blogs. Plus I have to say I scrap even more now then ever. Challenges help me get my tush in gear :O)

Coffee....

I need some coffee this morning. I haven't been up this early in quite some time. I would usually be up in about an hour. The boys are already demanding stuff. My 5 yr old is asking for water, thankfully he fell back to sleep immediately. Dad is asking for McDonalds, I will give into that because I want a coffee. Not a regular coffee drinker but I'm feelin' it today. I'm catching up on all the great new blogs that I found, and all they're talent. I have found some new sites that I just love and can't wait to delve into and see what they're all about. I'll be right back...........all set got the coffee, watched a bit of the news to find out the traffic and weather. Now watching DIY Scrapbooking getting some more ideas, sometimes I think what they show is silly, but todays episode has a couple worthy ideas. lol
This weekend is going to be full of scrapbooking and maybe a card challenge.
Mmmmmm....they are teaching stamp kissing, have you ever done? Looks easy enough. I may give that a try. Hope all of you are feeling creative and do just that create! ttyl

I'm Back....in more ways then one!

Well I've taken almost a month off from blogging, oops! I really didn't mean too, I sort of got super duper busy. I went on vacation, dealing with my 5 year old son at school, a bit of this and a bit of that.

My son is still having issues in Kindergarten, not really sure what else I can do. He has some hehavioral problems. All kids do.......right? Well somehow my child manages to get the whole school involved and its a big deal. Not sure what to do, I can't take it anymore! We go to counseling, he's been tested. yada yada! All I can do for sure is love him!

I went on a fabulous vacation to Key West with my mom, aunt & sisters. They were so much fun, gotta love family. We had a couple moments that were like whoa! but we get over it and move on. Nothing big, just silly stuff. I absolutely love that place.

Wish I could go back like today! So I have gotten my pics printed just waiting on getting copies from 2 of my sisters and mother so that I can scrapbook, yo! I can't wait I love scrapping vacations. BIG or small......

I have an overnight stay planned in Holland, Michigan for the Tulip Time Festival. Haven't gone before and I hear it is beautiful. I love to take shots of flowers as you can see above. So it'll be nice to shoot a sea of tulips. We are going on the last day of the festival and staying over night. I planned it where our son can enjoy the indoor pool at the hotel, that evening. He'll be excited for sure!
The drive home the next day will be nice its less then 3 hours, I thought maybe we could stop in Marshall for Turkeyville USA! You've probably guessed it they serve Thanksgiving style dinner every single day.

So lots coming up, hoping to get some time in to scrapbook and create some cards and do some challenges. I miss it BIG TIME!!!

Have a great bloggy day to all!

New stuff is good stuff!

It has happened finally, I have gotten a computer. This is so sad to say but I have bought my first. All that I've had in the past have been hand me downs that don't exactly work so well. So they get put aside and and well never get used. I've lived in this house for 7 years and only have we had internet access for a total of probably 4 months ever. We are no longer living in the stone ages. Yay for me!

Crazy I joined Blogger this past December and did all my post from the library or at a sisters house. Wow! I can now do this posting stuff from the comfort of my own place. I was however able to post comments and check out everybody's updates thru my ipod touch. So the bf thought I was obsessed with blogging before he hasn't seen nothing yet. lol

Another funny thing well I'm usually in bed like an hour ago. I can't seem to sleep, I did just get the laptop today.

I did have time to make a card last night before I went to bed. My sister Barby lives in Kentucky and wanted to make sure to send a Easter greeting.

Well have a good night to all! Talk to you sooner then later! :O)

you & me.....

Good day all! I'm feeling good...couldn't say that over weekend. I was feeling horrible up until late last night. All seems well now.

I made a card this morning before I came into work. Yipee! I hate to miss a challenge especially at http://www.spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/, so i made it happen. :O)

My weekend was fun considering the non-stop headache. Friday we went shopping for a bit. Saturday met my sister Lisa for breakfast. My little family went shopping, then went to my niece's sweet 16 party. After I was dropped off at my mom's church for a music concert. My mom is in the choir. This was the best one that I've gone too so far. Very uplifting! A friend from work showed up she just moved down the street from the church. I believe she enjoyed herself. I sat by my aunt and mother's boyfriend. I took a pic of my mom and aunt they both looked so nice that night.

Well hope everyone has a great week!

I have a busy one and hope to get some more challenges done. Chat with ya later!

Sweet

Good morning bloggers!

I decided late last night to do a challenge. I'm going way beyond what I would have done in the past. Thanks to blogging and getting inspiration from others. The color combo at PPC this week was perfect for my nieces "Sweet 16". There's still time you should go over to their site and get in on the challenge.

Btw....I figured out how to make my own banner. I wanted to use a photo that I had taken, came across this pic that I had taken a few years ago at Heritage Park in Taylor. I just love the blooms on this tree! Still learning stuff, slowly, but learning at least. Here's a question someone might be able to help me with. I type out the whole website and want to know how do I do it where it says click here and it'll take you directly to the place? Or like I can write the blog site to visit by using the name and you can click on it to be directed there? I hope I am explaining this right. If you know please share, that would be the best.

Have a fabulous weekend all!

Weekend Fun!

Let's see I guess I'll start with a challenge card. Over at Allsorts this week their theme was "Spring is in the Air!" Love it! Then SPCC had a great color combo that worked so well with Allsorts challenge.

I had alot of fun creating this card. We've had great weather the past couple weeks, however the weekends haven't been as nice, strange wouldn't you say? So it was nice to create a springy card while it was quite chilly and gloomy outside yesterday.

I had Friday off so that I could go to the boy's kindergarten class for a "Beach Party!" Lovely weather I must say. Both Dad and I got to go and particpate. We had so much fun, dressing the part in our summer wear. I got so many awesome pics to scrapbook. Yay! I can't wait! Anyways, we had a great lunch of sand (vanilla pudding w/ finely ground graham crackers), seaweed (salad), octopus (hot dogs) and gold fish crackers & sea water. Very clever that teacher is....she shared a story that after 20 years of teaching and after 20 years of having beach parties, her and her husband have been slicing the hot dogs to have 8 legs to look like octopus, 100 total. She was watching Leno and they were sharing silly gadgets. They had a octopus maker for hot dogs. She said its takes her about an hour now, before it took them so much longer to cut each by hand. LOL! At one of the tables there was a real octopus....um....gross! It wasn't alive my boy wasn't completely grossed out, but a bit nervous. I decided to face my fears of any creatures and put the gloves on and held it and I was completely creeped out but happy that I could share that totally gross moment with him.

Friday evening Lucas got to spend the night at my mom's, first time ever! He loved it and said he would want to go there again soon. The bf and I went to Wyandotte for 3rd Friday. That city holds this all year, you walk around the shops stay open late, and there usually is a theme each month. Afterwards we went to a friends house for a bonfire. Perfect weather!

Saturday was just lazy!

Sunday my sister and I went to a GREAT! Scrapbook Event, sort of a expo....got the best deal and was so happy! I love my Creative Memories albums. Well some of you may know that they discontinued the very short lived landscape album (10x12). I have 2 of these and have needed refill pages for quite some time. They had 2 refills & pg protectors for 50% off. Woot! Woot!

So I've babbled enough, sorry if I went on for too long, but when you have such a great weekend its easy to babble. Have a excellent week my fellow creative bloggers!

BTW....check out my sister's new blog she is new to the blog world and has only posted once so far, and really its an introduction.....at www.scrappylos.blogspot.com

Lazy Rainy Days

So this weekend was super rainy and gloomy, thats ok it was a great weekend still. I stayed in completed and started some challenges. Got to do my first blog hop w/ SPCC, first time for them hosting a blog hop. Too much fun, and lots of inspiration! We all need that from time to time. I actually learned alot about going green while scrapbooking. Something I've gone green on (but didn't think of it this way until I read others green stuff) is that I take cake frosting containers clean them up, take the label off, and create a new label and use it for storage. Try it, perfect size for so many things. Darn it, I should of taken a picture of some of mine. I will and post later.

My first card here is for the SPCC #38

Serious? My coloring is off again. I think the computer at home needs to have some adjusting. I saw bright pink. Well either way it was fun using the colors that I did, cuz I normally would not. You should go to http://www.spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/ to see what the other entries are, beautiful stuff for sure!

My second challenge #43 is over at http://www.allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/ this week they chose a color combination. I got to work w/ my favorite colors, black, pink & white. Awesome!

Well its time to start this week off, and I actually have Tuesday and Friday off so I'm hoping to finish the other challenges that I started. Happy for the lazy rainy days this past weekend. BTW the weather channel is calling for sunshine all week and next weekend will be more rain. Oh yea, my sister and I are going to Macomb Community College for a Scrapbook show. Yay for us!

One Cool Cat!

Yo! How are you? Good here, in a great mood this morning. So I've learned bits and pieces to this blogging. Still some things I'm clueless about, but I'm gettin' there. I really am enjoying doing the challenges and keep thinking I don't want to be involved in too many. Each week however I find another one that I like, its cool it keeps me doing what I love and I'm finding that I am making more cards now, like the one below for the color challenge over at http://www.ppc-challenges.blogspot.com/
The white & black circles are actually glitter cardstock. I wish you
could see just how cute the sparkles are, glitz always makes things better. I need to figure out a place with good light to take my photo's. The pic's never really look as they do in person.
Anyways, I had lots of fun w/ this color combo and look forward to next weeks challenge, because yay.....she decided to do them weekly instead of bi-weekly. Love it! Have a good day everyone!

Monday, March 08, 2010

Good Morning!

So it's a new week and a new Monday morning post, I don't have much to say. Gotta get busy, here is my card for www.spcolorcombos.blogspot.com & www.allsortschallenge.blogspot.com this week.
SPCC color combo and at Allsorts its Just For Men. I love when I can combine challenges. Have a great day everyone!

Bright sunny days!

Good Morning everyone!

Bright sunny days here in Michigan, we needed it. We've already had like 3 days of sunshine. The weather reports for 7 more days of sun and in the 40's all week. Love it! Let's hope its true. I woke up super early this morning and was able to make a card for a friend. She contacted me last week through text and as it would have been great to talk with her, texting is what I got. So I made a card for her this morning, letting her know that its time to go have lunch. Plus, I was able to use the card for challenges this week. While at home making the card I had ran out of tape runner, really how could I let this happen, no refills on hand. Then my ribbon adhesive maker ran out. Really? So I do complete the card and then I look at the card on the way to work in this super sun shiny day and the ribbon is more of green then baby blue. Yea so I need some better lighting at home. lol....well I have to get busy, I'll be posting soon! Hope your having
BRIGHT SUNNY DAYS TOO!

So I am bummed that the ribbon is slightly off color, even more bummed that in the photo it really looks off. I still like the card though, thanks for the challenges at over at PPC-CC #2 & Carols Sketch Fun #21. Their links to their blogs are:

What a fab weekend!!!!

Good morning all, its Monday again, and we have to start another work week. No bother, gotta do it to get to another weekend! So how was your weekend? Good I hope for all.

I was able to get some cards done this weekend. The challenge this week at http://www.allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/ was to make a Mother's Day card. I made 2, one for my mom and another for my someday mother-in-law. The above card is my entry for this challenge the 2nd card I thought I would just share with everyone.

Well the rest of my weekend was great, I got to visit with my brother and all of our family so that we could celebrate his birthday. It was very nice there aren't many visits between all of us, we have to be careful or too much time goes by.

My son asked to play in the snow while his dad was shoveling. So I got his snowpants on him with a quickness. I got so many great shots of him playing in the snow. I have to say taking photos in the wintery snow with him playing are my favorite types of pictures to take. Plus scrapbooking those photos are always awesome too. While dad was shoveling our snow he decided to help our neighbor with her walkway up to her door. It didn't last very long but for being 5 years old
I thought that was pretty cool, she did too.

He played for about 30 minutes then asked to go in so that he could warm up. No problem! It was quite chilly.

Well the rest of my weekend was just being lazy, relaxing around the house oh and I got a fab new haircut, thank goodness for a minute there I looked like one of the Jonah's Brothers, then I started to have what I thought looked like a Carol Brady-d0. E-gads! What would have been next if I hadn't gotten a cut.....Billy Ray Cyrus for sure, you know Achey Breaky Heart days.

I did go to dinner with my men (son & bf) and naturally I played Keno. Alittle history with me and Keno well I play the same for 4 numbers every time for 5 games at $2 a game. So the prize is double. I never win :O( I decided to switch it up a bit this time, I chose 17, bf chose 36 & our son chose 5 & 80. I only played $1 games.....and guess what I won $75. I'm a winner finally!

Ok so I'm a little chatty this morning, but it truly was a terrific weekend. I'm looking forward to the next one. Have a great week everybody!

I heart challenges!

So I've been exploring this blog world for about 2 months now. I am totally getting into these challenges I find all over the blog. I have been doing the challenges over at Allsorts for about 4 weeks now. That site gives me all sorts of inspiration to make cards. I like doing cards but I'm not as detailed as they get with all their copic markers (to which I've only heard of since I've started blogging). I have to say I'm curious to see them, and try them out. So as I am a true scrapbooker at heart I searched for some new sites this past weekend. I did discover another site on Saturday SPCC, it seems to be more scrapbookers and their challenge is all based on the color combos, so the colors they provide are what you have to work with. I also came to Practical Scrappers they try to get you to use your stash. I am excited to join all of challenges. I hope to keep them straight, and to keep up with it all because it will help keep me up to date. I've already completed the Allsorts and posted. Now here is my take on SPCC. Funny about 2 weeks ago I started a Allsorts and didn't have enough time to finish and post in time. Well the LO had 2 of the 3 colors on it that SPCC was asking for, so I was able to complete it last night by adding the third color.

Allsorts Challenge Week 40

Good Evening, I did a card this morning for my brothers birthday that will be coming up on the 27th. Over at the Allsorts Challenge this week it was Tag, Ticket or Label. Sorry I don't really have much to say, I'm at my sisters and gotta rush home to the fam to make dinner. I'm thinking loaded nachos or tacos. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Bye for now!
