The Weekend is Here...TaDa!

Work was good this week and very interesting. I work at the Renaissance Center, Downtown Detroit. Strange people walk amongst us. While work was good this week, I am estatic that its over and I can begin my weekend in just a short few hours. My sister will be coming over to watch Twilight with me after my son goes to bed. Yep we're finally going to break down and watch it. LOL! I started the crockpot this morning and have soup beans cookin' up for us. Corn bread will be made and we will chow down. Its a favorite from our childhood, our father being from the southern part of Kentucky; so it was a staple for us growing up. Her husband doesn't like it or even understand it so she doesn't get the opportunity to make it. I get to every once in awhile. Yum!

Saturday and Sunday not really sure what is in store for my little family. Shopping, playing, scrapbooking, hugs, naps whatever it is I hope at least all of the above will happen. I may even tackle our basement and start going through stuff to throw out, give to goodwill or even pack away. We are ready to start looking to buy our first house! We rent currently from one of my other sisters and have lived in this house for 7 years, its time to move on. This house is cursed a tiny bit, I'm sure of it as you may have read in a previous post. Cursed not in your "Ghost" kind of way, it keeps us from doing certain things. So house hunting is in our future, very near future.

Gotta scrap!

So I haven't spoke much about scrapbooking in my blog. I haven't had much time to do it, I usually can once every couple of weeks. I love to give ideas or even read other scrapbookers blogs and get new inspiration.
My sister Lisa is my partner in crime, we love to sit together scrap and chat. I've missed it lately because she has had some pretty horrible back issues the past few months, so she hasn't been able to do anything. On Monday she is having surgery to correct it. I also have back pains but nothing like her. I hope all goes well. I miss our crop outings! We do have a weekend planned in October. WOOT! WOOT! It's in Traverse City off of Spider Lake at Harold's Resort (pic with cabin is where we stay). We typically go with up to 4 other ladies, but this time it may be just us. We've done that twice before and its so nice because we think the same and there isn't any drama at all.

40 years?

This is me and "the boyfriend"

We went to a 40th wedding anniversary this past Saturday. It was so nice, to see the couple again. They were neighbors to my parents, so naturally their kids, and all of my siblings and I were friends. We don't see each other much anymore, usually when there is something big going on.

Anyways, my bf got all sentimental on me, stating "I'll have to be like 75 before I get a party like this!" I didn't really respond. The topic of marriage is a strange one w/ us. It will be 8 years next month. We have a awesome 5 year old son. I don't know really how to explain it other then......the curse of the house we live in. We live in the house that my sister and her bf lived in for 13 years and finally got married once they moved and their child was 12 when they got married. I'm hoping this year is the big year. I don't want to wait another 5 years for married life.

Yikes!

BTW.....my Wii Fit countdown 3/86, oops I missed 2 days in there because I was so sore I couldn't do any exercise but I'm good now. I am just curious as too how many of the 86 days can I complete before my vacation. Time will only tell!

Sisters Trip II

Sweet! Key West is approaching quickly.

I've never been there before, I am going with my 3 sisters, my mom & my aunt in April.
Gotta love vacationing!!!

My sisters and I took a trip to Vegas back in August 2008
We had a blast, on that trip we decided every two years that we would take another vacation together (Sisters ONLY! No FRIENDS) to places we never have gone to before or revisit a favorite of ours. None of us had been to Key West so we decided on that this time around. I mentioned to our mom thats what the plan was for March 2010 but she asked if we'd like to go in April. Her and her sister would be going then, and we would have a free place to stay, we'd only have to pay for a flight and our own car rental. I was on board immediately, plus I've traveled many times just my mom & my aunt. Its fun! So I told the other sisters and they all agreed it would be fun, and we're all related, so why not, plus their sisters so we're kind of sticking to our plan. It seemed so far away but now its only 3 months away.
So I gotta get my butt in gear, I've been doing my Wii Fit to help w/ a few lbs that has creeped up on me in the past couple of years. Gotta eat right to lose right!

I Must Have a Positive Outlook......

So this is the first blog that I'm jotting down. Nervous, not sure why. I have to remind myself it is good to write down your thoughts. I have kept a written journal since 1994, accumlated many, many books. I look back and see the changes and realize how things weren't as bad as I thought they were way back when. Oh to be back to those days. I often wonder should I burn those old books. What do you think?
I need to have a positive outlook on everything, I have to remind myself to look at the great things in my life.

If something looks bad, see the positive in it, all things do work out in the end. It may take time, but time is what we all have.
