The Return of Flashback Friday

Hi everyone!  Just gettin' a FF out this very early morning!  I haven't been able to do one in 3 weeks, busy and well I've missed blogging in this time. 
I have a huge weekend ahead.  I am going to 80's Fest in Frankenmuth tomorrow evening, but before that happens I will be running my first 5K in the a.m.  Wish me luck! 

I'm really looking forward to the summer, not necessarily looking forward to a yearly canoe trip.  The "non-husband" loves it, and has a bad habit of asking do I want to join them.  I like this page, I did an entire 8x8 album on this canoe trip.  Well hope your day is sunny and feels summerlike.  I know it won't be here!  :O(

Hi there!  Whoa!  I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks and it feels like an eternity.  So I'm back, just busy with work, Mister Man, working out & a few other things that are very time consuming.


                                          

Bob Harper gets me movin'......he inspires me all the time!  What he says makes it seem so possible and it sinks in my head.  I would love to meet him.  Get some real one on one time with him over lunch and then a serious workout!!!!!

My grandmother is/was 100% Danish. Her father and mother came over on a boat a few years before she was born.  Ancestry tracking is a hobby that I would love to donate more time too, but it's expensive and that just isn't possible right now.  However when I was able to delve into for a few months last year, I found all sorts of ancestors going back to the late 1700's.  I always say I don't need to go out of the country there's plenty to see in our own country, but I am now very interested in going to Denmark someday.



My sister over at Scrappy LO's found this very cool Link Up Party.
I thought that it was fun idea, and it will be yet another time consuming deal, but worth it, looking forward to seeing all these new blogs and gettin' ideas and makin' new friends, in the scrappin' blogland.

Monday is here again!  Time to start this week and I've got lots, and lots to do.  So I might as well start it off w/ something fun.  Welcome to:

*I have this idea that I'd like to lose a few lbs.  I'm so all about the working out, but can't seem to get the food thing right.  It's really a bummer considering I could probably drop the weight if I would just make better choices.  This is something most people struggle with.  My goal this year is to lose 25 lbs. Not completely hard to do, very possible.  I did go buy some fruit and veggies yesterday and plan to make my lunches again, that way I'm not stuck eating McD's, Potbelly and Salsarita's all week.  Gotta take one week at a time. 

*So a couple of weeks ago I ordered from Avon this nail color:

These are not my nails....just makin' sure you know, why I think that's important I'm not really sure!  lol

But before it was delivered to me I was shopping at a corner store and found this color that I just had to have:

Again, not my nails.

Then I get my avon order like 4 days later and I'm like "huh", I must really like this color. I wanted to try something different I'm usually a red or pink nails kind of girl.  Anyways, it looks great on my toes.  :O)

*Do you ever think of what your name could have been?  I do, and I can't imagine being anything else then A'ndrea (pronounced:  On-dree-a not And-dree-a).  The only thing I'd get rid of would be having to correct people all the time.  Have you ever looked at someone and thought she looks like a ____________.  I have, and I know its not totally weird because I've had people say to me before he doesn't look like a Grant, he looks more like a Bob.  Weird topic I know, but what do you think my name would be if you hadn't known?

Hi to everyone!

*Had a wonderfully great scrapbooking kind of weekend.  I was able to get 11 pages done.

*I am doing my first 5K run on April 16th!!!!  The Downriver Dash is raising monies to help w/ child and family programs at The Guidance Center, this is a wonderful place and I'm doing this to help support because they have helped in our transition of understanding my ADHD son and helping him succeed in everyday life.

*My little 6 year old, isn't much into music, not sure why because myself and his dad are big music listeners.  So this morning on the way to my mom's house, I said, "wanna hear some music?"  Odd question because he always asks for us to turn it down or off.  He says, "no" then says, "actually do you have Michael Jackson?"  I just smiled I am big huge fan of MJ music, so I found OFF THE WALL in the visor and we jammed all the way to grandma's. 

*I watched 4 movies this weekend, it was great because I don't get alot of time to watch movies and relax w/out someone calling for me to help them w/ something.

Spring Bling Part 2

Well our weekend is coming to an end, we are stuffed just finished breakfast.  I just finished my last couple of pages so we can get on the road early.  Missing my little Mister Man mostly, especially since I scrapped of him all day yesterday, and that cute smile of his.  Sorry for all the clutter surrounding the LO's but hey, I was busy, busy creating.  11 LO's total, not too bad.

So all the pages I did of him were from Kindergarten, trying to get caught up and I did, but I still have plenty of that year to scrap.  I did do one more page for a 8x8 album that I bought yesterday.  Its a Star Wars album and its perfect, we have loads of that goin' on at our house.  Lucas was named after George Lucas.  I know nerd, right!

Spring Bling!

Good Morning!
Doing some scrapbooking this weekend w/ my sister Lisa.  We were challenged to add lots of bling to our LO's.  She really went for it, I did some as well.  I feel like I don't have all the right photo's with me that could use bling.  I was planning on getting caught up on Mister Man's school albums.  I had a couple of pics that I could use for our family album, so today I will focus on the school book.  This is what I created last night:

~I still watch the Smurfs all the time.  A couple of years ago I got Season 1 on DVD, but my VHS from back in the day will do.

~Collecting Barbies is something I've done since 1989.  Last count I had of them in the boxes was 83, my most expensive Barbie my mom & dad bought me, its a Bob Mackie/Masquerade Ball $208. 
~During my teenage years, I wanted to marry funny man David Letterman, well that was if Brian Austin Green wasn't available.  LOL!

~Playing Keno makes me so happy!  11-17-27-77, if you hit with my numbers, let me know, that'll be a hoot!

*Yay for short work weeks, I have Friday off.  Sweet!  Even better on Friday morning my sister and I will be driving up to Houghton Lake area for a scrapbook weekender.  This is a new place for us, we are looking forward to something new.  Best part its only $90....and you know how pricey these weekenders can be.  We look for cheaper ones, and we've come across this one.  The theme is Spring Bling, we bought feather boa's (Friday night contest), lots of bling and we are excited for a great time.  Check them out on fb, Scrap-tastic Events. 

 

*I met with a friend yesterday for lunch, we haven't seen each other in almost 4 years.  We had a falling out and it was time to bury the hatchet and move on.  We've been friends since high school. We shared some laughs and caught up on everything.  It was good to laugh with her again.

That is definetely back in the day. 

*The news is simply depressing.

 

*That darn alarm clock that my "non-husband" has is killing me.  For 8 years I've listened to this thing go off starting at 430am, every weekday.  He doesn't start work until 715am so why have that thing set up so early.  What kills me he doesn't get up until 620am.  So I have to hear that thing, loud as can be, it drives me nuts.  Whomever invented snooze deserves a punch in the head. 

 

*Moving is in my near future, well within the next 6 months.  Gotta get busy, searching to buy our first home is nerve wrecking, but its time, and definetely needed.  Looking forward to the change, we've been in this rental for 8 years.  Not going to be sad to leave in the least.  We are going to start packing up stuff now.  Let's move it yo!

Yearly 10 Update

Here's my progress on my mission to complete these things in 2011.

1. Get serious about the 2012 Bodah Reunion
2. Buy my 1st house  
3. Take Lucas to Disney World   
4. Get sewing machine repaired and sew again
5. Read Gone w/ the Wind all the way through
6. Go to at least 3 plays/musicals

7. Visit w/ an old friend, a different friend each month   (2 out of 12)

8. Lose 25 lbs     (down 4 of 25)
9. Climb Detroit; join a team    (done 3/6/11 w/ a time of 27 mins)
10. Ride my bike again

Flashback Friday

Well I've had an overwhelming past week.  Things have been good and busy.  Before I get to this weeks FF I wanted to share my stair climb results.  I had practiced each weekend (6 weeks w/ Kimmy) before the actual climb and our best time was 36 minutes.  We did the climb last Sunday and we did it in 27 minutes.  That is huge we blew the old best time out.  It felt great!  My co-worker Sanja was part of my team. We've signed up for next year already, one of my sisters joined also.  We hope to double our team next year.

We all stuck together and made sure we made it to the top together.  As a team we wanted to raise $600, we raised $1010.  Wow!  Next year we plan to raise $2000.  Anyways, after our climb we were on the news see below.  How much fun was that?  Lots!  Afterwards we went to a local bar and celebrated.

Flashback Friday

Wooooooo......Friday is here!  I hope your making plans for your weekend, I already have a busy one.  My big climb for the American Lung Assocation is Sunday.  I can't wait to climb the 1,056 steps to the top of the Renaissance Center.  I'm shootin' for 30 minutes total time.

Goodness! I'm so tired and not enough sleep, maybe tonight.  Let's get right to it

I didn't do any cleaning this weekend, that's ok right?  I was busy so I put it off, it'll be here when I get home.  I'll have to tackle it then.

Went to a comedy club this weekend.  Never made any mention to my friend Kim about it.  Oddly enough we posted on Saturday evening, seconds apart on fb that we were going there.  Her table was even behind ours, too funny.  There's more as we were being sent upstairs to get the show started I ran into some neighbors that used to live on the street (during the 80's) that I grew up on.

Ok so how about this one, I can't wait until the the new smurf movie comes out this year.  I remember Saturday mornings were the best, because the smurfs came on.  It was awesome too that my dad loved watching it with me.

I am not going to change my blog design again for awhile.  I went through something the past couple months where I couldn't get it right.  I finally like what I have and won't be changing again.  I think readers like familiarity.  So I'm all set for now. 

So my last miscellaney is this coming Sunday I'm going to be climbin' my butt off to the top of the Renaissance Center, I've practiced w/ one of my teammates Kimmy.  All 1056 steps to the top, is tough but we did beat our original time of 40 minutes, down to 36 minutes now.  We will practice once more and then hope for a better time on the day of.  I'm excited the money we have raised for the American Lung Association.  Love my team:  My Stair Ladies!

Yesterday was good day for creating, lots of good thoughts while scrappin'.  I already posted yesterday some LO's that I did.  I was able to enter a challenge over at Lasting Memories.
Here are a couple more layouts that I created, could have kept going but we went to a comedy club last night.

My sister and I have been checking out new challenge blogs all weekend.  She came across one called Birthday Sundaes.  Check them out they are starting March 20th, how exciting to create and enter right from the beginning.  Its going to be all about birthday cards, and growing your stash.  Be sure to check out their new blog, it gives all the information about they're challenges, blog candy and a DT call.  So check it out y'all.

Lasting Memories #26

Hi again, busy scrappin' this morning!  Over at Lasting Memories they have a challenge going on that is due by 9pm tonight.  It is too reduce, reuse & recycle.

I thought and thought what in the heck could I do or use.  After some time I figured it out.  I took a project that my son had to do in kindergarten w/ his family.  We had to disguise Tom the Turkey, because he didn't want to be eaten. 

All the students did wonderful jobs disguising their turkeys, most of them did recycle or re-use an item. 

So we decided to turn Tom into the Easter Bunny, dad's idea!  We clipped out from a magazine rabbit ears, a basket and a carrot.  Below you'll see the side by side LO that I created w/ the photo's that we took and the disguised turkey, not only is the turkey disguised but Lucas wanted to disguise us too. 

We were able to use up some of my scraps as well during this project, so I may not have used scraps for the actual LO but the turkey is all re-used stuff, hope that counts.  If not I understand, it was fun creating the pages.










And on another note I stopped at a craft store yesterday and they had big clearance items.  I have a sad supply of flowers  :O(

I always want to use them, but I'm amazed at the cost of those jars of florals.  I will pick some up if I have a coupon or on clearance (which isn't often).  Odd but flowers are the only thing I'm cheap about, when it comes to scrapbooking goodies.
So with the big clearance sale I bought 3 containers and happy to see my stash has grown.  :O)

Just wanted to share, I'm going back to creating and I promise I won't post again until tomorrow.  Tee hee!  I've posted 4 times in the past 24 hours, that has to be a record for me.

Fight For Air Climb Detroit, MI with Ron Savage Fox 2

Have you won blog candy before?  I have recently and I'm so excited, its crazy I had to call my sister first thing.  She was then just as excited as I was. 

How perfect too, I won a box of buttons, only my most favorite embellishment in the world!  I won over at Crafty Dragons blog.  Ali is a DT member over at Lasting Memories.  They only do scrapbook LO's for their challenges, that's why I love them so much!  I do enjoy cardmaking but scrapbooking is my true love.  You should definetely take the time to check them out. 

I will be at home most of my day, so I've got to get some pages done.  Just waitin' for the sun to come up, I'm about an hour away.  Enjoy your day, and let's all be creative!

Snow Helper

So I should be getting ready for work, but just not feelin' it today.  The weather is horrible.  With that though I got wonderful shots of Mister Man.  Scrapping snow LO's are one of my favorites to do.  I can't wait to scrap this one.

Late Flashback Friday

Hello!  We have finally made it to Friday, I mean Saturday!!!

That totally excites me.  I really love my weekends!

This week's FF is going to be a tad bit different. 

I wanted to post it last night but when I decided to it was too late, my camera died, and I had to plug it in, then I fell asleep.  So its being done now on this very sunny Saturday afternoon.

I also have this thing that I like to do called AuniLeigh's Top 5, occasionally.  So I'm combining them for this post.  Plus at the end there's another element to this post that I've never done before and excited to do so.
