Lasting Memories #26

Hi again, busy scrappin' this morning!  Over at Lasting Memories they have a challenge going on that is due by 9pm tonight.  It is too reduce, reuse & recycle.

I thought and thought what in the heck could I do or use.  After some time I figured it out.  I took a project that my son had to do in kindergarten w/ his family.  We had to disguise Tom the Turkey, because he didn't want to be eaten. 

All the students did wonderful jobs disguising their turkeys, most of them did recycle or re-use an item. 

So we decided to turn Tom into the Easter Bunny, dad's idea!  We clipped out from a magazine rabbit ears, a basket and a carrot.  Below you'll see the side by side LO that I created w/ the photo's that we took and the disguised turkey, not only is the turkey disguised but Lucas wanted to disguise us too. 

We were able to use up some of my scraps as well during this project, so I may not have used scraps for the actual LO but the turkey is all re-used stuff, hope that counts.  If not I understand, it was fun creating the pages.










And on another note I stopped at a craft store yesterday and they had big clearance items.  I have a sad supply of flowers  :O(

I always want to use them, but I'm amazed at the cost of those jars of florals.  I will pick some up if I have a coupon or on clearance (which isn't often).  Odd but flowers are the only thing I'm cheap about, when it comes to scrapbooking goodies.
So with the big clearance sale I bought 3 containers and happy to see my stash has grown.  :O)

Just wanted to share, I'm going back to creating and I promise I won't post again until tomorrow.  Tee hee!  I've posted 4 times in the past 24 hours, that has to be a record for me.

Good day...

Good day......to all my green wearin' friends! Happy St. Patricks Day! Yay! No green beer for me today but a free lunch at Andiamo's. Sweetness!

Well I joined the blog hop over at http://www.spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/ this past weekend and they had a "going green" color challenge. You had to use the color combo that you see below and reuse something as your green item. Colors were awesome, "green" item was a bit of a challenge in itself for me. I decided to use some crumpled up tissue paper and dabbed it on a inkpad to white textured paper for color and it looks sort of like marble. Is that "green" enough?

So using the color combo from SPCC, and the sketch & song from Just My Sketches...I believe I came out with a really nice and fun LO. I chose the Rod Stewart song, one reason is its the only song that I knew. Second, I chose what I thought was a perfect lyric from the song, "You Fill My Life with Laughter!"

So I hope you enjoy my page as I did enjoy creating it.

Lazy Rainy Days

So this weekend was super rainy and gloomy, thats ok it was a great weekend still. I stayed in completed and started some challenges. Got to do my first blog hop w/ SPCC, first time for them hosting a blog hop. Too much fun, and lots of inspiration! We all need that from time to time. I actually learned alot about going green while scrapbooking. Something I've gone green on (but didn't think of it this way until I read others green stuff) is that I take cake frosting containers clean them up, take the label off, and create a new label and use it for storage. Try it, perfect size for so many things. Darn it, I should of taken a picture of some of mine. I will and post later.

Serious? My coloring is off again. I think the computer at home needs to have some adjusting. I saw bright pink. Well either way it was fun using the colors that I did, cuz I normally would not. My second challenge #43 is over at http://www.allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/ this week they chose a color combination. I got to work w/ my favorite colors, black, pink & white. Awesome!

Well its time to start this week off, and I actually have Tuesday and Friday off so I'm hoping to finish the other challenges that I started. Happy for the lazy rainy days this past weekend. BTW the weather channel is calling for sunshine all week and next weekend will be more rain. Oh yea, my sister and I are going to Macomb Community College for a Scrapbook show. Yay for us!
